PROJECT. OBJECTIVES

Client AMPERSAND

To help transform a London landmark, Darling Associates and McLaren Group approached Radii AG to undertake the internal atrium glazing and fire-rated glass doors for their Category A fit-out.  To achieve this, we manufactured and installed all the glass partitioning for an internal atrium, balustrades, fire-rated and non fire-rated lift lobby doors.

Our
Solution.

The four storey central atrium designed by Paul Cocksedge Studio, features a unique "Living" staircase commissioned especially for the building.

This highly curved atrium needed glass rising from the floor plate to create a fluid feel and complement the central spiral staircase, so RadiiAG used full height frameless 15.5mm low-iron toughened laminated glass.

The bespoke steel framework was calculated, designed and installed to support the atrium glazing, as well as the spandrel panels with stainless steel trim and curved balustrades to compliment the design.

Radii AG used 25.5mm low-iron toughened laminated glass for the balustrades, which gave a modern and clean look to fit beautifully with the oak framework and live vegetation adorning the staircase.

    Project insights.

All of the atrium glass was manufactured in the UK with the glazing installation requiring a specialist crane to suit the constrained access situation.  The curved atrium pods not only enhanced the aesthetics but also added to the useable floor space.
